A lot of changes happening in 2026! The Red & Blue Bash has been reimagined as:

Spartan Soirée

Friday, May 1
Wayzata Country Club,
6-9 PM

We are bringing back Orono’s largest party. So long to the formal gala, and welcome the Soirée! Tickets on sale now and will be available until sold out. Space is limited.

Our community asked, and we listened. This May, the Foundation will host a more casual night of amazing food, fun, games, friends and high spirits to raise money for our kids and continue the tradition of excellence in Orono Schools.

What will be new?

  • No seated, formal dinner program
  • Lower ticket prices and new VIP levels
  • No formal dress – come in ‘country club chic‘ and show your Orono pride in red & blue attire
  • Moved to Wayzata Country Club – with an After Party at Bucks Pub!

What will stay the same?

  • We will be raising money to support ALL students and teaches across Orono Schools
  • A fun night with custom food and drink options
  • The online & live auctions will return (let us know if you want to make a donation to either!)
  • Eric Perkins and the Lew Crew will bring the laughs again this year

Evening Schedule

5:00 PM – VIP Cocktail Hour with golf simulator, select photo-op, passed appetizers and open bar.

6:00 PM – Main event begins – socializing with appetizer platters and custom food stations, photo booth, games, Spartan swag, Silent Auction and more!

7:30 PM – Short program, Fund-a-Need, Head & Tails, Live Auction, Luxury Purse Raffle, (and we have thrown in a few surprises this year) led by emcees Eric Perkins and the Lew Crew.

9:00 PM – Main event ends – DJ and After Party at Bucks Pub

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Individual tickets and VIP packages will be available on this website April 1.

Yes! We are limited on occupancy at Wayzata Country Club and do not have the ability to sell more tickets than the space will allow. We also spend a lot of time preparing a personalized experience for each of our guests which prevents us from selling tickets at the door.

The annual fundraiser has always been an incredible evening of community, laughter, good food, music, games, and support for Orono Schools.

  • Entertainment for the evening will include returning emcees Erik Perkins and the Lew Crew, a short program, competitive games, Heads and Tails, luxury purse raffle, cigar rolling, live auction, silent auction, photo booth, custom swag, and more!
  • Attire for the Soirée will be ‘country club chic‘ and we encourage red & blue to fill the room with Spartan pride.
  • Complimentary valet parking will be available for all guests. Tips are encouraged.
  • Food and beverage for the evening will include heavy passed appetizers, a variety of food stations, signature drinks as well as access to no-host bars around the facility (cash, credit cards and Venmo  accepted in exchange for drink tickets).
  • In the past, this has been a seated event. It will not be seated this year – although there will be various spaces around the club where people can gather and sit down if desired.
  • VIP ticket purchases include access to WCC golf simulators and VIP Cocktail Hour with open bar.
  • Guests will want to bring a credit card (for game and drink tickets and donation payments), a fully charged cell phone (for the auction),  and energy for a great night of connecting with community and FUNdraising!

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser are placed into the Foundation’s Annual Fund. Contributions to the Annual Fund are invested into Orono Schools each year to support immediate needs and fill gaps in the budget due to state funding shortfalls and inflation.

Local tax dollars are distributed evenly among school districts across the state based on number of students enrolled in each district. The only dollars guaranteed to stay in our district are referenda funds approved by district voters and private donations to nonprofits that support the school, like the Foundation.

  • The Foundation is the only organization that serves all students and teachers across the PreK-12 spectrum. This is one way that OFE differs from our parent organizations. Another difference is that the Foundation supports fundamental needs that take place behind-the-scenes related specifically to academics and operations.
  • Donations to the Foundation support curriculum, resources and trainings that are not offered at schools of a similar size and make Orono a great place to learn and grow. This has included (but is not limited to) K-8 World Languages, K-5 Literacy Program, Character Education, and the variety of AP course offerings that have resulted in Orono being rated one of the Top Traditional High Schools in Minnesota.
