Thank you for taking an interest in the Orono Foundation for Education!

The Foundation was started in 2000 by a group of parents who were dedicated towards maintaining the excellence of Orono Schools in an environment of decreased state funding. Since then, Orono parents and community members have continued to step up year after year and provide additional funding to the schools, constantly striving for excellence rather than state-funded adequacy.

The funds raised by the Foundation are granted to the schools and go towards things like:

  • Keeping class sizes small,
  • Classroom materials and technology,
  • Having additional coursework that may not be offered in a school of similar size,
  • Teacher development/training and additional teaching specialists.

The schools, teachers, and students appreciate any contributions our community members and parents can provide. Help us continue to support “Today’s Needs and Tomorrow’s Dreams!”
